– ABOUT THIS VIDEO –
Canon and Epson are essentially in a dogfight for the title of best photo printer. While there are other producers of portable printers, when it comes to desktop picture printers of the highest calibre, these two are truly the only players in town. This is the place to come if you want to mount, frame, or display your images.
The good news is that there is still a wide range of options even with only two main manufacturers. Offering a variety of printers at different price points, including letter-size and large-format models, is something that both Canon and Epson have excelled at.

Dye ink printers, like the Ecotank and smaller Canon models, are not ideal for art or photo reproductions. The prints tend to fade quickly unless they’re stored in a sun-protected, airtight environment. In typical conditions, they can start to fade within months and deteriorate significantly within a year. For prints meant to be displayed, pigment-based inks are the better option for long-lasting quality.
Dollars?
Correction – The Canon Pro 1000 CAN do large landscape/panoramic prints up to 1200mm
will go with epson just because it gives more color for refillable tank model
Canon sucks

You are ignoring the several elephants in the room. The average consumer does not make prints every day, or every month. This is the problem with inkjet printers as the print head clogs up with dried ink and wastes a lot of ink trying to clear it. If an ink runs out and you don’t realize it, the print head can overheat and fail because it is the ink flow that cools it. Don’t but a printer that does not have a user replaceable print head. Don’t buy a printer that does not have refillable cartridges with third party inks, and can be reset to register full. I have been running a Canon Pro-100 for the past ten years. When idle, it is connected to a small PC that sends a 1/2 page test print every other day. This uses very little ink, and I print over the used paper. This prevents the printer from going through a head clearing routine before I make prints, which save a lot of ink. I have had to replace the print head once because I did not realize that the yellow cartridge ran dry. This cost me $100. Much cheaper than buying a new printer. The print quality remains excellent.
Don’t buy the HP unless you enjoy having the printer refuse to work unless the ink cartridge is both HP and In-Date. I can’t even use my old HP for scanning if I don’t have the "right" ink cartridges installed. Meanwhile my Epson 8550 prints more pages in one fill than the HP could for $1000. No exaggeration.
Do you have to have a print shop to print fine art photos?
You’re not valid. I just chucked a new hp envy. Screw the money that things garbage.
"the only models to consider for printing photos are CANON and EPSON…"
"And now the ranking: #5 is a HP printer…"
In my opinion, the intro is too loud compared to the rest of the audio. It startled my cat.
If you were buying a photo printer today, what would you buy?
TS printer mentioned is rubbish quality for photos and the ink runs out with hardly any use and expensive to replace
besides recommending ANY HP printer these days is a crime by itself, there is another thing that pisses me off here…
Stop this stupid channel that dont even test one of the products themselves, just reciting the marketing bla bla of the companies. Seriously – Screw you!
It Would be nice if this video shows actual testing. This feels more like an advertisement
Hola amigo
Information on the Pro-1000 is incorrect – it has 12 Ink Tanks not Ten
Can anyone help..I need a printer for my cricut maker. Every cricut owner praises Epson for affordability and how long the ink lasta but most of these cricut owners don’t know any better about the quality of their prints because for many of them it’s their first printer and it’s good enough. I’ve seen one side-by-side comparison of an epson vs a canon printer and the canon colour was more accurate and vivid. Can someone with experienc recommend which to get – Canon or Epson? And which model? Im choosing based onboth short and long term costs and print colour accuracy and vividness. Thanks ❤

My ET-2875 can print manual dobbelsides but the App Epson Smart Panel can only print a whole file, e.g. file is 100 pages but you only want 10 dobbeltsided . This is a software error, very easy to fix. But our local agent seems not able to communicate with Epson. What is wrong?
F
Can these print art or pictures on both side on the paper
Inkjet cartridge printer is the worse printer
Printing cost is too much
And Cartridge gets block every now and then
The printer is the best in 2023, but i like epson
The best photo printers out there? This is ridiculous.
I used to use an Epson ET-2550 https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 , an early model of the ink tank style. It worked well, but had one nuisance that drove me up the wall; if you didn’t put it in high quality print mode you’d get a streak across the page. I’m happy to say I have yet to see this with this printer. The print quality has been fantastic so far, the set up was super easy. All in all I’m very happy with this printer.
Playing B-roll for the companies doesn’t help me, put all the printers on a video printing the same image would be helpful and at different sizes. I too can just believe the ads for the printers and say which is best without testing them. This is poor consumer advice, show the printers actually printing, setting them up, the relative sizes of them, the draw backs of each and so on. Don’t just show what the companies show and say they the best because the company says so. What a waste of my time.
Excellent reporting 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Those inks burn your pocket, haha
Ended up purchasing a Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1000. Love the print quality and size of the prints it produces.
You completely missed to mention Deli printers.
Epson p700/p900? Hello?
I have the p800 … fabulous A2 pigment ink printer for fine art prints, and has roll feeder for panoramas. If you omit these its not a serious video.
Real men use paper that comes in sizes called something like "Ax". Inches have been obsolete since 1970 in the UK,a nd the 1800’s in the rest of Europe!
Canon inks are very expensive and the maintenance cartridge too
I own a image prograf 520
My favorite is always Epson
Very economic and profitable
The most unprofessional setup I’ve ever seen.
Thank you for the advice!
Why is a British site telling us the price in dollars?
Except you wouldn’t know what the best photo printers of 2023 were back in January of 2023! The year had barely even begun yet. I really hate it when you people do that. I also hate it when you waste 2 minutes of my life intro’ing your video. This isn’t speech class, this isn’t an essay. This is the internet. Get on with it. You have a title and a description that already tell me what the video is going to be. Again, GET ON WITH IT!

If you’re just printing photos for your own personal enjoyment and memories, you really can’t afford to NOT buy the ecotank. Yes, the upfront cost is expensive. But the tanks last for ages before you have to refill. I have two eco-tank printers- one for photos, one for documents. Despite needing to print a fair amount for course work and for communicating with builders, I only have had to re-fill the tanks three times in the past 6 years – I’ve printed thousands of pages.
I’ve just recently brought the ET-5800. The picture quality is more than decent, and it costs mere cents per photo.
Cartridges are a rip-off, and should only be tolerated if you have no other choice. If you do have a choice, go with the eco-tank printers. It WILL save you money in the long-run.
Which printer gives how many copies
Out of date information as firmware updates have changed some specs
Qualcuno supporto cӏ "Fine Art" su Epson ET-8500 o ET-8550?
Very helpful. TQ 🙏
