I bought a scam energy saver and made it actually save energy!

There are all kinds of plug in the wall “energy saver” boxes. None of these save energy or do anything. I thought I’d buy a cheap one and modify it to actually save energy — just for fun.

This is sold under different names “Stopwatt” “eocwatt pro” “Stop Watt”, “Stop Eenergy Watt Power Smart Energy Saver”, “Electricity svings box”, etc. If it was that easy to “save energy”, the power grid operators would already be implementing it.

  1. Mine looks identical to yours. But it’s called "Pro Power Save" and it was reported to have been created by Elon Musk. The power company sued him, but he won in court, so is free to pass the savings on to us. Sad to say I fell for it. ๐Ÿ˜”

  2. The sad part is that a lot of people are falling for this…..especially those ads that photo-shop Elon Musk’s face on a body to make it look like it had his endorsement. Amazon and others should ban their ads……

  3. Don’t BUY they are NOT professional and they send more than you purchase. They charged me more than almost 300. Dollars.

  4. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Okay I am back to edit.. I am still laughing at this video a day later ๐Ÿ˜‚ you’re great! That you would invest in such a piece of equipment and have the mechanical knowledge to investigate the pixie dust. Just for us. Yep it’s working whole lot cooler and darker๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. That should save a lot of energy!
    Thank you! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฅ‚

  5. The seller is lying that it will save 50% energy. But as we can see in the video, it actually saves 100% energy. Amazing ๐Ÿคฃ

  6. It’s actually funny that some people actually believe that power saving devices exists. There is no way that something you plug into an outlet will not consume electricity.

  7. I want one, but got the but not for the purpose of saving energy, but for the purpose of smoothing out energy, to send the current a little more in phase with the voltage

  8. LOL, you made a "Little Jiffy Fuse Blower." I haven’t seen one in years ๐Ÿ™‚ Mine had a big red button on it, and a label that said "Do Not Push."

  9. I’m so sick of everyone trying to scam us!!! How about actually trying to do something to help us instead of trick us?!!!๐Ÿ˜ก thank you for the video. โค

  10. I kept getting emails on this so i had to go to YouTube to check out the โ€œElon Muskerโ€ energy saver. This video was top notch. Very descriptive and informative.

  11. Iโ€™m here today because my older father fell for this scam. He asked me to research the product and I found your video. Iโ€™m going to have to brake the news to him that he was duped. Funny video btw ๐Ÿ˜‚

  13. Your pretty funny and first those out there who have no understanding of how electricity works, you’ve done them a favor.

  14. Thought it was some electrical engineering advanced power factor correction, but you revealed the actual smart dust technology… well done. And just a simple short will work even better.

  15. Damn!!! I just purchased one and it was delivered. Why didn’t I check you out first!๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

  16. I thought you were gonna modify it by crushing it in the vise ….. But I got a kick out of your way of doing it ,,…………

  17. Saves money on your devices which in turn saves money from electric you save money with your electric by not making your electric harmful

  18. What a laugh! ๐Ÿ˜‚Absolutely knew it had to be a scam, but just one small part of me had a wondered how this outfit could be in business selling this thing. I guess anyone can advertise whatever they want on the internet. Hmm, maybe itโ€™s time to start selling my idea for device that by plugging it into the USB outlet on your car, will improve the fuel efficiency so that it will get 250 miles per gallonโ€ฆ.of water.
